And does this incident and the reaction to it not just tell you everything you need to know about that cesspit of a club across the park and its tiresome fan base?
It just shows that they believe themselves to be above the law and when you control the media you can spin anything how you want.
In the last few weeks alone we’ve seen:
Firmino and Brewster at opposite ends of two identical racism incidents yet both have been held up as brave victims. Holgate and the Spartak player have seen their reputations tarnished despite no evidence going against them.
Chants of Munich outside of Old Trafford have been completely airbrushed whilst erroneous claims made against Everton and United fans with zero evidence are always widely circulated.
They recorded their lowest ever home possession percentage v Spurs and were completely outplayed but somehow managed to turn it into a referee witch hunt with established pundits watching a slow mo of Van Dijk kicking Lamela falling for a foul the other way (similar is now occurring for the Fellaini incident)
Their loss to West Brom turned into a campaign to have VAR dismantled (even though it actually called all decisions in their favour)
United have gone from easing to a 2-1 win to having parked the bus and cling on as yet another refereeing controversy robbed Liverpool.
Now we have Carragher spitting at a kid which is almost too heinous to morph into something else but they’ll have a right good go.
If they were as good at winning trophies as they are at maintaining a propaganda machine they’d be the team that half their fans believe they actually are.
