You can’t just blame one without the other. Allardyce got us to 8th playing Cuco Martina.

The reason teams like Leeds, Burnley and Sheff Utd (last season) do well is because they have a fixed system, players playing in their actually positions and everyone knows their job.
True, but the reason we needed Big Sam in the first place was because of awful recruitment. Too many issues haven’t been addressed. We needed competition for RB and GK and we are still short in midfield.

the recent performances haven’t been good enough and I do find Carlo’s selections odd but he’s not got much to work with in certain positions. Maybe a keep it simple approach might work. Back to 442 or a 451.

What is worrying just now is our home form, 2 wins out of 5 this season (with Chelsea up next), even the back end of last season was poor, not winning any of the last 3.Any club that wants to achieve anything must be strong at home, look at the across the park, no home league defeat for 3
1/2 years.

For the seventh year in a row, under the sixth manager in a row we're garbage yet again. How can anyone not see the pattern here? The manager isn't the problem ffs! How painfully obvious does it have to get before the bedwtetters finally understand?! Some of you don't deserve good managers or players. You have no loyalty and will turn on anyone at the first sign of adversity. Some on here would deserve it if the club signed Ian Holloway or some other no-mark to a lifetime contract.

Should we have kept Martinez or Koeman or Fat Sam or Silva then?

We still have the majority of the players remaining from the last three/four years, too many of our "squad" are crocks or who can only be called on for 25/30 minutes maximum each game, Bernard, Delph, Iwobi, Siguurdsonn,Gomes, Coleman now is injury prone, Kenny,Mina can't string two games together,so many, this is a massive task for Carlo,he will be backed I am sure, but it is no quick fix, this current lot need moving on and replacing with far better quality and more important we need to start purchasing athletes imho.

We probably wouldn't have done any worse keeping Martinez. Thats how bad its been since. The others should never have been appointed.

The fact is we now have the best manager we could have recruited. So if things still go wrong then maybe people should be pointing their anger in other directions. The club is a shambles from top to bottom with people not doing their jobs properly. We have had 2 DOFs both who have spent hundreds of millions on slow overrated no marks. We haven't produced a good young player since Barkley.

Maybe Carlo Ancelotti isn't the main problem here?

I agree that we are carrying far too many passengers in the squad. It’s ridiculous.

Easy for blues to point fingers at managers and not understand there’s more to this club being rotten than them.

I agree we probably wouldn’t have done any worse with Martinez to be honest. Other than Sam nobody has addressed our defence and at least with Martinez there was a definite identity.

The recruitment has been slapdash, and too many mediocre players were signed on expensive long contracts making them difficult to shift. It’s a right old mess.

He’s undoubtedly the biggest name manager we could have recruited but the reality is that it looks like it was the wrong appointment.

Duncan Ferguson was getting as much out of the squad as Ancelotti has done.

I’m not sure we need to be paying any manager £11m a year to basically get us midtable.
