yeah. people are going over obsessive with why we haven't signed anyone yet. there's every chance we get our business done early in this window, get a loan striker in and a very expensive striker and then all of a sudden on deadline day a better loan alternative shows up or two cheaper perm strikers who would be better for us in the long run and we'll be ruing doing our business early.

If we'd had our ducks aligned though mate those 3 draws could have been wins, meaning an extra 6 points

Could have used them

I think you should have all your business done before kick off in the first game of the season

Put Lukaku upfront instead of Jelavic and I think we'd have won that game.

Shows the benefit of not waiting till deadline day really

It's not that simple though. If we hadn't waited until deadline day we may have ended up with two players much worse than Lukaku and Barry.

While that's a good point, I still maintain the opinion that the earlier the better at the end of the day. It's kind of like jumping out a plane and your parachute doesn't work but you end up landing in a tree on the way down and hit all the branches, thus breaking your fall and meaning you don't die

Yeah, it turns out alright but it still would have been better to have a parachute that works

answered the question for me.

i would hope we have all our business done before the start of this season. but yeah, without the benefit of hindsight, we can't tell if that would be the best way.

we wouldn't have got a striker as good as lukaku last summer and probably wouldn't have had such a good season if we did our business early. that's more important than the first 3 games tbh.

I think everyone just needs to give him time.

I'm confident that by April we will be challenging for a Champions League spot, vault me if you wish. We'll probably get knocked out of the cup but put together a run of wins as we won't be distracted.

Were going place under Martinez, trust me lid.

The Oracle is amongst us folks.... I don't care what you say....

...I think that regardless of personnel and the transfer timeline, the players were adapting to a new system and approach. It was always going to take time, in fact there's an argument to say that it should have taken longer than it actually did.

From what I remember, the draw was a fair result for this game. We dominated possession but didn't do all too much with it, Cardiff defended well and looked sharp on the counter. The most nailed on pen ever wasn't given though, Baines got booked for diving as well FFS!

We deffo should have won the Norwich and Brom games before this one, though.
