Appreciate that totally. But it being a work in progress doesn't mean we're playing well. Hopefully we WILL eventually play well using Martinez's philosophy, but we're not right now.

That's not to say I don't think patience is needed. But there's no point in saying we're currently playing well.

I think we are playing well, and in time, we will play even better.

As i said, that is positive.

Exactly. We could have had as many as three penalties that first half - the Medel/Baines one being the most obvious. And Cardiff could realistically have had one, if not two players sent off.

It's got to be virtually impossible to break down a team playing eight at the back and apparently not subject to the rules of the game.

We are playing against a bunch of relegation bound jokers - there is no excuse for not creating far more direct opportunities in the first half.

this reminds me of the days of walter.

clubs like WBA, Norwich and these ,tvvats are **** scared to play us and approach us like ,we're a top three side. Unfortunately we haven't got a top three finisher...we need this addressed urgently before Monday goes by.

yeah the ref is atrocious. not sure which is worse... the Barkley yellow or the no call on Baines getting tripped in the box.

funny to hear the announcer rip on Jelavic a bit for "missing too many balls to my liking". as an American seems all too familiar to have strikers who just can't finish. (Half the reason I think the US has pimped Altidore's recent escapades so much is we somehow made it out of group in the last Cup without getting a single, solitary goal from anyone forward of the midfield.)

it's the horrible feeling of hoping at some point the damn will burst and the flood will pour forth... but realizing it's not going to happen.

seems so far away right now

I`m watching on belgian Tv (BETV). The guy commentating seems to know the Fellaini familly quiet well. Said that Fellaini and his dad went to Chelsea two month ago to discuss his transfert. But Chelsea told him that he was to expensive for a box to box player and that they are looking for a top class holding player. Fellaini told Kenwrong this week that he wanted to go. His dad is speaking right now with Manchester United.

There's nothing wrong with our first half performance - but as per we get nothing in the way of luck or assistance (when required) from the ref. A blatant penalty, a lucky save, a soft yellow for Ross, Pienaar being manhandled all over the pitch right in front of the ref who actually owes us (and West Ham) rather badly. You'd think he's either just not good enough as a ref or he should be making a serious effort to improve on his performance in that game and the one he reffed between Arsenal and Villa - we're suffering for his really bad penalty and red card call in that game now he just won't give one.

Knowing how and when to foul without being caught, and when to make the ref whistle is a kind of skill.
11.5m for Medel looks like a steal judging from this half.

The rules of the game only says you can't foul and play, but you can either foul, or play. Falling to fouls is not an excuse.

Fellaini lost one challenge that half and played one poor pass. He makes us strong and has improved into one of the best all-round players in our team. We cannot lose him or Baines now. The ref is a complete tool. How that was not given is beyond my comprehension. The players should have hounded him so at least he knew he made a mistake. We restricted Cardiff to absolutely nothing and that is due to the way we kept the ball. People slating Martinez are probably not even watching the game.
