Funny how we keep facing Doncaster. Drew in the EFL cup last year and also had the Academy team play them in the EFL Trophy. Would've liked some variety in the matchup but I'll take being at home against a League 2 side any day.

Feel like we play the same sides in cups every year.

Last season was the first time we have ever played Doncaster in the League Cup. We've played them twice in the FA Cup, in 1985 and prior to that in 1939.

The only other times we have played them was in the league between 1951-1954 when we were in Division 2.

Well if we're going on a cup run, may aswell have the easiest teams as possible and a League Two side at home is a perfect way to start that.

Doncaster fan in peace. Last year we were bottom and crap, now we are top and good (albeit 1 game). So yes you will probably spank us as football makes no sense. Looking forward to Goodison, as many of us are, being too young for the 1985 game.
