Got my renewal through the post, so thought I would shop around, because £400 seems a bit steep for a crappy R Reg Escort, 3rd party fire and theft.

So tried a few and they all want to rip me off..... Cant get anything cheaper. But this 1 really made me laugh.

I remember filling in a blag 1 on confused.com & altered my date of birth to when I thought I was going to pass, I used the details of an absolute heap worth a few hundred quid & 1 came back at 24 & a half grand
 
You posted this purely to wind me up... didn't you Goat?

I paid £500 for a car and cheapest insurance (third party) was £231 a month....

Last year I couldn't get insurance for a 360 spider, so logged on to go compare.com. They came back with quotes ranging from 3grand to 12hundred notes. I registered an interest for the 12hundred notes one.
The next day I received a phone call from them saying they did business with a firm in Northern Ireland, where I am from, and would I mind them passing my details on to them. I said that I didn't mind.
The next day I got a call from the firm who quoted me 750 fully comp, where do I sign I said.

Try the comparison sites and a bit of leg/phone work you should get the quote you want.

Need to be careful with comparison sites though, they are the official 'middle man'.

Direct Line quoted me the cheapest by some distance and they don't feature on comparison sites.

Agreed mate, however by using their advice I saved an absolute packet.
 
LOL. When we left the UK, we were paying around £250 a year on a 54 Vauxhall Combo, and it was fully comp. :D
 

Churchill came up trumps for me this year, was looking about paying £400 fully comp for an R reg Nissan Almera, but Churchill came up with something like £287!
