Since we first signed him, Gibson hasnt half shed the pounds though.

I think that's true but looking at that picture does anybody watching him on the pitch really have that come into their mind when they think of him ? (Not in a homo-erotic way )

Not talking about Gibson necessarily but I think it's accepted in football that players who struggle to recover from injuries are often those who don't 'look after' themselves .

Coleman as captain. I want our whole team to show the spirit and attitude that he does every single game and sprint the length of the pitch to hug topless Jela.

Obviously it'll never happen but that guy's a top role model.

Aren't his injury problems due to a calcified growth in his thigh which has caused recurring problems for him. Hence waiting for surgery in the summer. Not sure there's much he could do to prevent this.

Also, he's an awkward mover due to his body shape. Wide hips, square build. But i'd say he's deceptively slow and he busts a gut more than most midfielders in closing down opponents. Would like to see the stats on ground covered during the last 30 on saturday. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a prem record.

He's got a bit of attitude about him as well, not scared of anyone. Could be a good shout in a few years time.

Was thinking Coleman. Who really in our team has the drive to so it? Neville is a pretty dull captain, good leader no doubt, but not one to inspire the team to victory on the pitch. Working through, don't think baines would want it, nor is he really vocal enough. jags is alright, always does ok when he does it. heitinga is a ****house, shame else he'd probs be ok. Don't think Coleman has the maturity or respect for it yet. Fellaini when he's on it would be good, but too inconsistent, and prone to the odd lapse, which he couldn't get away with as captain. Osman does well with it, plays with Passion when he gets it. Gibson maybe in the future, he is an understated leader on the pitch. mirallas-no. Pienaar-no. jelavic-no. don't feel an attaching player should have it permanently anyway. Tbh, think it should probs be jags, with one of osman or Gibson as vc. Anything but Neville anyway, about as inspiring as a visit to Plymouth in February.
