Would be hilarious though as I imagine the RS would have been the top ranked as champions and leading our league. They get knocked out and a couple of days later the league is cancelled and the CL awarded to Madrid on rankings.

It would be a huge kick in the teeth for Atletico mind.

Yeah, think now clubs are getting directly affected / infected with cases, a suspension has to happen.

Then a decision on whether to restart at a later point and finish the season, which would scupper next season, or just jib this season completely.

Think we all know which option is preferable.

I think another fair and spirit lifting outcome, would be to declare all 20 clubs as champions for this incomplete season.

Given the difficult times that will be ahead, why not allow the likes of Bournemouth and Norwich the honour too.

Trying hard not to be biased based on the obvious, but it's a really valid point that by playing through summer just to get a result it will impact next season also. Got to be null and void, players finally get a decent break of 4 months that they all need given the way summers are filled with internationals usually.

Also impact on transfer activity that should be going on in summer, and out of contract players potentially in middle of the re-scheduled summer period etc.

If it was closer, or man city as the runaway leaders I think sky/PL would find the decision much easier. They were desperate to play this weekend and for the stars to align but it ain't going to happen.
