I for one don't actually care who's scored the most goals since 1992.

I agree. It is going to be super cringey when someone (probably Harry Kane) passes Shearer and they talk about them being the record all time scorer like the 4 guys with more goals than Shearer weren't playing the same sport in the exact same league format. Kane could pass all them too but it would barely get a mention when he did.
