Mayor Pete couldn't even succeed in the role of Secretary of Transportation. He performed terribly in the primaries, and if he does run in 2028, he will be a distant 4th or 5th at best.

The Democrats don't have centrist candidates who would be able to win over the independent or undecided voters. The progressives have alienated 80% of the party's base.

They currently have so many easy targets to attack from the current administration, and they are missing each time. It's so frustrating to be stuck in a two-party system where neither can execute or articulate a plan.

I wish it would go back to the old way, of the top two vote-getters are President and Vice-President and are given the appropriate powers, which Jefferson worked to mitigate due to his dislike of John Adams.

What I personally see is somebody who is not talking down to people, not dismissing somebody because of their political beliefs, definitely not dismissing people because of the way they look or where they come from. Somebody who listens as well as talks. That is more than half the battle. How many of the other potential candidates are willing to go on these platforms and not force their opinion down the throats of people.

Hopefully, the Democratic party are alive to the fact that this is the type of people they need, people to go over to the other side and state the case for the good.
