With a bit of luck, yes,
i would say we are better than Liverpool, Newcastle and prob Spurs. so thats 5th place, we wont do better than City, United or Chelsea, Arsenal....depends how they go, RVP carried them so much last year, depends how they get on without him.
Yeah, Europe would be superb.
Its hard at the moment with loads of clubs spending like there is no tomorrow then theres us who are selling players to bring in less players.
On our day we can beat any team but the depth of our squad and depth of quality is nowhere near a top 4 place.
Man Utd
Man City
Arsenal
Chelsea
Spurs
Newcastle
RS
Will all be fighting for the same as us. I think 6th is possible but I also think Spurs have a chance of beating Arsenal to 4th spot this season, fingers crossed. if we can get a decent start... /me dreams
Mate we are solid at the back and if our new boys Naisy and Mirallas can add to our existing midfield, combined with Jelavic spearheading the whole thing.. woah! That said we'll prolly fail miserably but for now it's on!
Changy told me it was on and we'll actually finish 3rd. It's already agreed, we just have to wait for the rest of the season. ITK
Ok, ok I'm sorry. I don't believe we will, but we are capable. It would just mean injury free, youth players stepping up etc and another load of goals from Bigus Vicus.
Would need an incredible amount luck with injuries and performances. Our squad just isnt strong enough, even though we throughly deserved to beat the mancs and it's results that matter there bench was a bit nuts with Young, Berb, Van Persie & Anderson waiting to come on. We just cant compete with the strength of other teams squads at mo. Though Arsenal to me are the team that is unkown and could slip. Also depends if it is a close battle for the title or not as if a couple of teams open a gap heads can drop on other teams (Chelsea/Arsenal) and that is when i team like ours can sneak in if we are within striking distance. Lets just take each game as it comes.
Also we have motivated new faces that are accustomed to winning things (Jelavic, Naismith, Mirallas) and no euro football straining our resources compared to our competition. No deadwood mOyLEz favourites except maybe Neville but he can do a job every now and then so I'm ok with that.
With a bit of luck we can deffo Challenge the top 4.
I'd love for us to do it but instead of just picking up points against the big teams we need to be beating the Stokes, the Villa's, The teams that we should pick up points against but we never do.
The last time we finished ahead of our neighbours in 2 consecutive seasons was 1937. If we achieve that this year , qualify for Europe and get a Wembley trip then this season will be as good as we've had for a long time and also give us something to build on. Having said that the only way I can see us keeping hold of Felli next summer is if we do finish in the top 4 . I think he's going to have a massive season this year and they'll all come knocking next summer .
