Simon Dobbin: Football fan dies five years after hooligan attack

Simon Dobbin was left brain-damaged in the assault after a match in Southend in 2015.

Horrific story and puts it all into perspective, especially regarding the utter lunacy we've seen since saturday over a player getting injured.

RIP Simon, the cowards who assaulted him should be utterly ashamed, no place in society for this, especially not when it's the fallout over a game.

There are no words for something like this and personally think it’s horrifying to know that 2 years after Simon’s death, the last of the 12 people responsible will be out of jail. Can‘t even imagine what his family are going through right now.
