Cahill: We Have The Hunger – News Archive – News – evertonfc.com – The Official Website of Everton Football Club

Tim Cahill insists Everton have the hunger to succeed this season.
The Toffees have had a mixed start to the season but returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at West Ham last time out.
Cahill played for Australia at the weekend, helping his side beat Oman 2-1, but his mind was never far away from matters at Everton.
The Blues have a tricky-looking schedule in the next few weeks but the midfielder is confident that progress will be made.
“I think the hunger’s there," declared Cahill, who has been captaining Everton in recent weeks in the absence of Phil Neville and Leon Osman.
"Being in the FA Cup final last year and finishing fifth in the league, we have to build on that. We definitely are good enough – it’s whether or not we can make it happen. We’re at the stage where we’ve got to kick on.”
Although players and manager have not used it as an excuse, Everton have been suffering with a lengthy injury list of late - and Cahill is looking forward to welcoming back some key squad members.
“The lads that have been in the team have been fantastic and we need that bit of extra help,” said the Australian.
“It’s about how we kick on and get more injured players back to share the workload."
Meanwhile, Socceroos skipper Lucas Neill is ready to rack up the air miles in January to lead out his country.
Australia have an Asian Cup qualifier in Kuwait sandwiched between Everton's games in the FA Cup third round and away at Arsenal in early January.
“I’ll put my hand up, definitely," said Neill. "The old club versus country argument will happen again, but it’s Australia trying to get to another big tournament. I’d like to be part of it, I’d like to lead the team out.
“Let’s see how the games fall, and how my personal situation is. If you’re not playing (at club level), then I’m sure plenty of boys will be putting their hand up. There’s a lot of competition for those 23 spots to go to South Africa.”

Hungry Jacks bought out a new mega fat burger today, Mr Cahill. Perhaps you should pop your head in there.

I'm making tacos tomorrow.

What is the authentic taco shell?

Obviously not one of those crispy Dorito corn things.

Fried tortilla? Tortilla grilled over a ladel? Enquiring minds want to know.

Ummmm he owes us one...perhaps when we have a settled side and he is playing in his favoured position it will happen....is his effectiveness slowly fading?
