Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
Just been listening to city talk 105.9, They had the Echo editor on the line asking whats being printed today. He said the back page was'nt good news for everton fans as Cahill has lost his race to be hit for the merseyside derby.

Iv try'd to find somthing on the net, but it does'nt say it anywere yet. Im sure once the echo is out later, it will be on their website.

Only good thing is, if he only just missed out. It means its not the same foot injury he's had twice in the past. An will be back for the important games coming up at the end of the season.

Sounds like el nobbo might be out aswell, so that should even things up nicley.

We'll miss Cahill badly, but having Andy Johnson,Joey Yobo and Steve Pienaar back will more than compensate for the loss.

No chance danny, he's always going to be good to have around. An when he's on song. He's a top player.

Its a difficult one but if we aim to strike up a partnership with AJ and Yakubu, we will need a 4 man midfield. Cahill is half the player in a 4 man midfield, add to that his international commitments and his injury record the past year. His injury is a recurring one - its prone to go whenever he lands a jump.

the problem with tim is this foot injury is always going to come back he does so much jumping in his roll and he jumpes so high and what goes up must come down and its just adding pressure on his foot.. we will never get a full season out of timmy again but if he gets at least 6-10 goals a season hes well worth keeping around

I'd probably sell Tim Cahill too while we can make a quick buck out of him....if this Injury proneness really sinks in then we'll be stuck with a crocked aussie on high wages....like them over the park.

we are not a selling club. we should not be looking to cash in on our best players. he signed a 5 year deal last season and hopefully he will see it out.

If we can get decent cash for Cahill in the summer, I would sell him.

It would have to be very decent cash mate, every player at every club has a price and its bollocks to say they don't.

He will not be offered for sale as he signed a long term contract last summer, Moyes thinks the world of him as well. He brings that added commitment with him and its infectious. On his day he'd be in any side I picked, trouble is he has spent best part of the season either injured or jetting round the world and we have not seen the best of him by any means

With Australia and his recent injuries, I'd take £10 million Mont.

But in saying that, it depends entirely on the fresh injury.

Replacing him with??????

Thats were Moyes earns his keep. Arshavin maybe?

The points I am making is;

Is he crocked? - It sounds like it
He is effective in a 5 man midfield, supporting the stiker. Fantastic when on form. But, if we go with AJ and Yakubu, we obviously have a 4 man midfield which he isn't the same player in because off the ball and passing he isn't the best. Someone like Sidwell/Arshavin would be more effective in a 4 man midfield.

On a side note.

I quite like the look of Joe Ledley of Cardiff. Not a replacement for Cahill mind.

Now I'd go for him as well in any case, see Moyes buying British quote. He could be a target.

I think Tim has had an unlucky season. If Fernandes showed a glimpse of Cahills enthusiasm I might have warm a bit toward him, but he doesn't. I love Cahill's commitment mate, I like to see that in any player on top of which I believe his love for the club is real as well and you can't buy that.
