Preseason but a continuation from what we saw under Allardyce which is understandable I guess. Problem is I'm not convinced we've got the players to change our attacking play. Tosun is a decent finisher but when even League 2 Bury feel comfortable playing against him you can see his overall play is an issue.

Schneidercrab is just too ponderous. He sees most of the ball so he dictates tempo yet he just shifts it from side to side and ambles around.

Says a lot that our best 2 players on the night (Baines and Miralles) have been linked with moves away all summer. Very few positives to take from that performance.

My thoughts really. It's a sign of the work Silva has to do in order to get this team playing. There was absolutely no spark about our play, which is a bit of a joke since we're playing Bury.

Few players looking OK and a few well off the pace. Think Dowell is failing his audition here. Mirallas looking interested. Result is not of importance really but some players have disappointed. Think Coleman is well off the pace and not looking good at all whereas Baines is looking useful. Cenk looks slow in thought and Davies was not involved enough. Was expecting to see players closer together playing in tight spaces but early doors yet and every minute pre-season is getting them closer to full fitness and only hope an understanding starts showing a bit more in a couple of games time.
