It's the typical England island mentality to soccer Don mate. They think that they created the game and are still the best at it.

I get EXACTLY what you're saying here.

top teams from top leagues, so i wouldn't expect you guys to know much about CSKA Moscow, Catania, Valenciennes, stuttgart or the smaller guys. not too mention Japan is a country on the upswing as well, good talent is being pumped out. Miyaichi never played pro ball until he went on loan to feyenoord last year and then to bolton this year. There's alot of talent in asia period. Why don't you think these players will be good fits though? especially Hajnal, who has bee a rock for Stuttgart this season. It's not like we can afford star players anyway.
We haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of getting a work permit for a player from the Japanese league.

Its difficult to say if players from those leagues can adapt, some of the players you mentioned are good players but we have to be realistic about how we spend our money. I'm not saying none of them cannot come in and do a job if given an opportunity but playing football in asia or even russia(who's league is a pretty decent standard these days) is notlike playing in the prem, its a totally different way of playing footy. oh and yes i know serie b teams too shocker eh.

You are well wide of the mark here. All he did was write a list of names that was it and then made out like we hadn't heard of them nothing to do with 'knowing better' so pipe down

No honestly mate I've been pondering this for a while and he's absolutely SPOT ON in what he's saying.

He obviously knows his onions.

Don mate, can you name five young players that if you was employed in a scouting capacity at Everton you would be looking at?

being Japanese American I am somewhat biased towards asian players but, my first guy is Hiroki Sakai(RB). He locked neymar down in the club world cup once he was assigned to him at HT. He's been a spark plug for the Japanese olympic team and his club team, Kashiwa Reysol. His transfer fee is said to be only 1 million euros and he's very close to signing with Hannover.
Second guy is the pure attacking mid Francesco Lodi from Catania, he has been amazing the past few years and his coming out party was this year with Catania. If you guys watched Catania play, it is a sad sight to behold since their strikers simply cannot finish but, Lodi has been the lone bright spot on that team.
My Third guy would be the striker, Weverson Leandro Oliveira Moura( or simply Leandro) from Gremio, this pick here is based solely on what I think he can become. He is very comparable in to neymar in this physical makeup and style of play but he's not quite as polished as a player but i believe he has immense upside. he's a good finisher, has excellent touch and vision and is not your typical selfish striker. My Fourth guy would be a pick for our future and sort of a shocker, GK Kawin Thamsatchanan. Howard isn't getting any younger and from what I've seen of this kid, he can flat out stop shots. He reminds me of a young, Thai Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi. He has excellent quickness, reflexes, and agility. He also has the experience to boot. Hes been the #1 GK at top Thai club Buriram United for nearly 4 years now. My last pick is Freddy Guarin Midfielder fro FC Porto on loan to Inter Milan. Him and Radamel Falcao are the two dominant forces on the Columbian national team and if you guys saw him with porto last year, he plain did work. Porto took a step back this year but still won the league thanks to this guy's versatility as a player.

Keisuke Honda has been playing at a high level in Europe for 4 years now and can satisfy the requirements for a conditional work permit as he has earned 60% of his country's caps in the past couple years. Miyaichi never played pro soccer until last year. Arsenal signed him while he was still in High school and put him on loan to feyenoord rotterdam and then to bolton the second half of this year. Miyaichi also hasn't been capped for the senior or u23 team yet. per wenger's request

work permits would be declined on them you have to be an international of a certain level to get a permit here.It will be interesting to see if your 'ones for the future' work out.

Honda would get a permit he's a decent little player too.

watch a Leandro highlight if you can and Kawin was on trial at Man U around this team last year and was thought to have a legit chance at being signed until he got injured while on trial.

Do you read FourFourTwo magazine fella? You certainly know your football mate, hard to disagree with any of them choices.

I sometimes too feel that the Asian players are undervalued in Europe which is a shame as there's so much talent.

Looking on the outside in, who would you sell from Everton to raise the funds for these young lads as that's gonna be KEY.

Japanese and south korean football is improving all the time, i think the main reason we don't see so many in the uk is down to permits really. European clubs tend to pick the best youngsters up first.

Actually I don't, there really aren't too many soccer magazines available to buy where I live. Is that magazine available in the states? i think our strongest position is CM or that holding, anchor, Defensive midfielder spot so, I believe we could quite a bit of money for Fellaini. Anichebe is a liability as he can never stay healthy and Hibbert is a very solid RB defensively but he has little to offer in the way of creativity and attacking prowess. Tim Cahill is one of my favorite players of all time but, i believe his time at Goodison park is coming to a end. He clearly isn't the player he was even 2 years ago. Maybe this year as a down year or it's a sign of things to come but, i think it's the latter.

Would you persist with the 4-5-1 or change it around a bit. I think sometimes teams are too hasty to over look wing backs, especially since we have Baines and Coleman in the team.
