Hopefully be a great signing but you have to feel a bit sorry for Garbutt who only made his debut on wednesday, would send him on loan by the end of today if Oviedo goes through

I for one welcome former Miss Costa Rica, Mrs Oviedo to Everton

I can see her maracas.

Oviedo is a proper South American full back/wing back. The sort of player happy to try and beat his man on the edge of his own box. He'll be straight into 6months of intensive Stubbsy training I reckon. Seems useful going forward, burst of pace and a nice left foot. Potential although I hear bad things about his knees!!!!!!! (I don't really, they're not explosive, just his pace)

He does need a bit bulking up...

Not as if Moyes wouldn't play Hibbert at left back before giving Garbutt a chance in a non-cup game anyway.

Why is it that no other club has trouble with work permits? I recon Moyesy is signing someone from a London club whilst he's there in the meeting

There are 'guidelines' to who they should grant work permits to but if a player is close to or just outside those guidelines it often comes down to the panels discression.

It's unfair but when 'bigger' clubs try buying players the panel often assume the player must be good enough as it's SAF who is trying to buy them, so teams like Man Utd tend to get work permits easier, which is totally unfair but that's just how it rolls unfortunately.

I think they should drop work permits for football players. It's too hard to quantify a players ability and therefore merits of granting them a work permit to enter the country. If a players comes in who isn't good enough the club will eventually sell them, solving the problem the work permit system tries to address.

Spain, Italy have far more lax work permit rules, which is why English clubs miss out on a lot of the young South American talent before they become well known players.

STOP IT, STOP IT NOW....HOW DARE YOU VIOLATE THIS PRETTY FLOWER WHO IS JUST STARTING TO BLOOSOM...........

11m kroner profit suggesting the total fee was around €1.8m as FCK bought him for around €250k I believe

Exactly FC Copenhagen has reported that the sale of Oviedo has improved their financial outlook for the year with 11 mill kroner . So the initial fee we have paid is no more than £1,15 mill . There are probably add ons based on performance , but it's a very good and cheap deal for us none the less :)

That's how much we're paying them this year, mate. Deals are often done in installments.
