Lorient defender Ecuele Manga is keen on a move to the Premier League following reports linking him to Everton.

The Gabonese international was linked with a move to the Toffees in 2011, and the 24-year-old is said to be interesting new manager Roberto Martinez.

Manga's agent, Yvan Le Mee, claimed his client was interesting Liverpool in 2010, while the player himself states that Martinez was looking in his direction whilst in charge of Wigan.

"I want to play in England," Manga declared.

"Wigan were interested in me the last two seasons, but I wanted a big challenge and I was not ready for that.

"My agent is talking to various English clubs so things can move quickly. Everton could be great for me and they are a huge club in England.

"I will realise my dream playing for such a club."

Hope we sign him cos he's a cracking player, and still young with time to improve and get better. The premier league will make a btter defender out of him IMO.

He's quite a big lad, 6ft 1-2", powerfull and strong fella, athletic and he's one of those types that throws his body in way of shots and gets blocks in, a la Jags. But he also reads the game well and likes to play out from the back and bring the ball out from the back, a la Distin.

Haha so he sounds a mix of them both!. Which on paper sounds sh!t hot ay!.

This lad is decent mate and it just shows ya that Martinez as got an eye for a decent player but cos it was Wigan, nobody wanted to go there. In Manga's interview, he said they were in for him twice but it wasnt a big enough challenge for him!. Im guessing Martinez got a lot of rejections like that in his time at Wigan?!.

OR maybe he realises that "buying" a 31 year old, Alcarez, is bad business, considering we already have Distin.

I know hes 30 now, but in a month hes 31, seems a bad move having 3x30 CBs.
