See he has already got his feet under the table.

When did we last hear from BK?
Where is Elstones monthly column?
When did we last hear from the club on anything?

The guy is so far out of touch with modern day football. Villa fans hated him.

Did he exert his influence to get the previous thread on his appointment disabled for postings?
Renound for that with Vills fans and forums.
Worst appointment in decades internally at the club.

In before da lock

Why? That's not constructive to the thread, is it?

All valid questions to be fair. Apart from the bold which is absolutely ridiculous. Influence? On here? Ha! As if we'd listen. Every thread on the entire forum without a reply in the past 90 days is closed.

He posts the team sheet on Twitter... https://twitter.com/doogan_brian

Oh and to correct the OP. Brian Doogan isn't the Comms Director.

People seem to think he's in the role Alan Myers did. He isn't.

Brian Doogan is Head of Media & Communications, replacing Mark Rowan who had been at the club for a very long time.

Richard Kenyon is the current Director of Marketing and Communications. He replaced Alan Myers who replaced Paul Tyrell, who replaced Ian Ross.

I think the club left Martinez to face the music on his own when this season went west.

I could be wrong, because I dont use the OS much. But when the manager was coming in for flack there needed to be support at the top that wasn't forthcoming - not the chairman's 'vote of confidence' or any such kiss of death that could confuse the issue, but one or two interventions from the likes of Elstone stating that the club understands the disruption to the season due to the extra competition in Europe etc and some words of encouragement about the management team. That could have quietened down the barking dogs that were beginning to assemble. The media filled the vacuum with their nonsense about the manager's future being in doubt while they stayed silent, to their shame. Fair-weather friends and all that.

I'm sure that Martinez will have learned more of a lesson about the hierarchy of this club this season than last.

The fact that people do not know this merely proves the point that the above are not doing their job...........

i had to reply after seeing this

brian has some good qualities mainly he is aggressive towards the media. he has his beloved greg okeefe and the rest of them eating out of his hands. very much a scratch our back we scratch yours. dont and he makes life difficult. good for the club as no serious questions ever asked by local media when ambition isnt there

his biggest fault which a lot here dislike him for is seeing the fan base as militants. the club is a private business and no one steps over the line unless its positive. sometimes staff would invite fans who were taking pics of dixie when there is no mach for a stadium tour but he went mad thinking fans shouldnt be allowed behind the scenes as if they are spies! doogan will divide an conquer the fan base an paranoia from elstone and the rest over the blue union ever coming back is a big reason why they wanted a little pit bull

so personally. as a fan. he is very bad. if i was the club. very good.

Why would he need support? Everything was great wasn't it?

In fairness, Elstone should have come out and stated categorically that the wretched run from after Wolfsburg was in no way down to owt the manager had done wrong and that his position was as solid as a rock and the club were outraged at the malcontents among the paying customers who wilfully refused to see the merit of the sideways and backwards passing which bored them half to death during the late autumn and winter.

Interesting, if thoroughly unsurprising, read that.
