If that was the reason, they'd never have let moyles through the door. If I had to guess, gun to my head, I'd say there might be an element of the phil schofields about this, but I can't corroborate that.

Thats what I can't understand. It would take a real genuine effort to be sacked from the BBC. Huw and Jimmy show the longevity offered by the Beeb to such lovable rogues.
