I dont think they are actually named after what you are thinking. Pretty sure it is to do with one of the bands grandmother who was called Pearl and her special jam that she made. They were eating it when they were trying to come up with a name for the band.

Did you watch? I did. I absolutely love that film. We've rebooked our tickets for the Ray Harryhausen centenary exhibition at The National Film Gallery in Edinburgh for January. Was supposed to go last July but COVID scuppered that! Hopefully we'll get there this time.

Of course I watched it ! Unfortunately the skelingtons lost again.
Alongside the Ray Harryhausen monsters I took note of how good the locations were as well as the Ancient Greek sets. The music is top notch and there's a great cast as well, all in all one of my most favourite films.I listened to this a while back, very interesting :
