BREAKING NEWS : Chelsea banned

We may not have to - Chelsea threatened to report them over Terry earlier in the summer, can definately see them going for it now, making sure they're not the only big-spending club in the crapper.

4 transfer windows is excessive, but I guess that's the point so it can be halved and the punishment's still harsh enough to deter clubs in the future.

Can see them settleing down over that given they still have to agree compensation over Stirridge.

The other point being that Uefa didnt give this ban or fine Fifa did - so Platini may not have as much involvement in this as people think.

there wasnt ever a question of chelsea reporting city for tapping terry up because it was chelsea who made it known on there official site and even terry and chelsea said that city behaved in the corect manor.

its the press that said we was tapping him up which city are taking 3 national newspapers to court over.

Completely inconsistent. They all do it. Platini's a calculating ****er too. Let's teach the big spending English clubs a lesson because the CL is becoming predictable, but let's go after a non-G14 club. Oh no, he doesn't want that cartel on his back.

I repeat: is there a point to this man whatsoever?

Edit: Fifa decision. Ok scrap the Platini rant. Still a decision that avoids confrontation with the big European cartel though.

Spot on Davek he is an absolute ******

All clubs have been tapping up players over the years

The Eduardo thing is nonsence as well

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | C | Chelsea | Chelsea transfer ban is suspended

Chelsea's transfer ban has been suspended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) pending a final review.

Fifa had ruled the club could not sign players until 2011 after inducing Gael Kakuta to break his Lens contract.

But Chelsea appealed to Cas, which said on Friday: "Such sanctions are now stayed until a final decision."

The decision means Chelsea can sign players in January, though manager Carlo Ancelotti stated he is happy with the players currently at his disposal.

"Now, thanks to this decision we have time to look for new players," said Ancelotti, who will lose Michael Essien, Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and John Mikel Obi to the African Nations Cup in January.

I cant wait to see how much money they spend in Jan now, should be fun.

On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being shocked by the ruling and 1 being duh of course they'd get off in time for the transfer window this is a -2476

Next step: throwing the book at a lower league team by making up a similar trangression to show that they FA isn't going tolerate this kind of behavior and kicking them out of the football league. I'd be scared if I was a Swansea fan

It would be better if they avoided making decisions to feed their ego for it later to be rescinded and they look like tits.

Money speaks loudly in modern football and it stinks to high heaven.
