Remember watching the live footage in absolute shock. Even when it looked like they had got everyone out of the stand another man climbed over and walked across the pitch completely on fire with people trying their best to put the fire out. It was horrifying.

Rest in peace the 56.

I don't know if it's true or not, but according to someone on youtube that poor man didn't survive.

Still brings a tear to my eyes that.
It was bad enough at the time but the poor fans under the stand, may they rest in peace.

I think people were desperately trying to get out, but the exit ways were either locked or blocked. It was just an awful tragedy, that could easily have been avoided.

Nope, the reason he was walking was because all his nerves had been burnt off.

I watched it on TV happening as many others did. It is beyond sadness. Bless them all. I would have hoped that the media would have mentioned more about it today.

Yeah he was a retired mill worker and died later that day in hospital. Heart breaking.

Shocking tragedy.

Bradford make no public show of not having to play on their day of the tragedy though, only the kopites do that.

Terrible. I was listening to Radio Merseyside commentary when they broke off to request urgently that all available fire brigade personnel should go to Bradford immediately. Seemed very strange but sounded ominous. Later we found out the horror that had occurred. May they all RIP.

I was in Bradford for a classical music festival (Delius), shortly after this tragedy.

Awful scenes that many of us witnessed on TV at the time.

I’ve seen the video to this more times I can remember on various health and safety related courses.

It always amazes me how quickly the whole stand catches fire.

Too much wood. Went up in no time.

I remember hearing an interview a couple of years back with Martin Fletcher, who lost 4 family members that day. Absolutely jaw dropping account. He wrote a book about it.

Can't remember if it was a podcast or a radio interview.
