Boxing

I do think he’ll be lighter this time and that’s a concern for Tony but I thought Haye was in shape just not ring shape . I think it’s the condition that causes his problems because he carries too much weight for his frame . I can’t see how the time out will have helped in terms of being boxing fit that as his age but he’s saying all the right things which again isn’t unusual .

Interesting to watch though .
aye, big difference between fitness and 'sparring fitness', I reckon most lads in decent shape could beat bellew in a 10k, but he has always been able to do 12 rounds, even when he was a fat amateur, if Haye's body has held up to a proper camp and hold up in the fight he should be winning comfortably, but while he can obtain a physique we would all dream of, his fighting fitness has always been poor

Seeing haye saying it may go to the later rounds, makes me think he will be looking to end this quickly.
Bellews career is over anyway win or lose,

It wouldn’t surprise me if his body broke down again during the fight. I fancied Bellew in the first fight, tipped him on here to win after the Flores fight. In the open work out yesterday he just looked much sharper and faster than the last fights. Saying that, Tony looked very quick on the pads. His movement looked spot on too. It will be a much better fight this time round.

On the sky podcast earlier Malignaggi said last fight Haye was training in the same gym as him ( 5th Street Miami I’d imagine) at the same time and Haye was the talk of the gym because he only turned up once a week . Other fighters and trainers were baffled by it .

How would his career be over if he lost? He’s a huge name in the U.K. now. He’s not a heavyweight in modern day terms. He will go back down to his natural weight of cruiser and have some big fights in that division. He could potentially win a couple more world titles down there. Bellew vs Breidis would be a good fight, Bellew vs Gassiev is an excellent fight and so is Bellew vs Usyk. He’s got many options.

He said himself he took the haye fight for the money to safe guard his future, mission accomplished. If he beats David haye again, there's a Good chance he will retire unless he gets a massive payday.
You want to retire on a high, he isn't going to get a bigger fight then haye even if he fights for the cruiserweight belts.

Money wise after this fight he’s sorted. I’m sure the is a desire to win more world titles. If he gets beat, he will go back down and try and unify that division.

Sounds like he is thinking of calling it a day after this to me. He said he would have wanted to fight for a heavyweight world title but now Joshua and co are there he hasn't got a chance.
