Boxing

I assume by your username that you're familiar with the face and heel roles in wrestling?

Well 'AJ' has the fake name, fake persona playing the face role and most stuff he says is scripted just to maximise his income through his brand.

He's more of a wide boy than Theo Walcott.

All this 'stay humble' nonsense whilst he has Stubhub plastered all over his attire, the same Stubhub that rip 1000s of fans off who buy tickets for all of his fights.

I'm not sure how he has conned Whyte in to acting as him own personal gate-keeper to prevent certain fighters to getting at him, I'm quite impressed at the one.

he's probably under some illusion that he will get the re-match should he clean up the rest of the division

It’s boxing though mate , if you’re looking for golden boys with glowing characters I think you’re going to struggle to be honest . Looks at ray Leonard , thought by many to be the real golden boy he was a wife beater with coke and alcohol issues . Manny pac , you’ve got extensive youthful drug abuse and plenty of homophobia . Our own joe calzaghe was arrested for a domestic incident at his home and has his well reported issues with cocaine and let’s face it I could go on and on and on listing armed robbers , racists and rapists.

I will agree those managing Joshua have done an amazing job to have a lad arrested and convicted in relation to possession with intent to supply drugs as the good guy whilst the likes of Fury is almost a pariah . I actually heard that particular Joshua convicted described on a fawning podcast as a ‘recreation drugs’ matter . Which you could argue is true but definitely stretching it .

As regards Whyte I think he gets a good deal from Hearn , he recognises his place in this and gets rewarded well I’m sure with as has been said the promise of more jam tomorrow. Just like most sportsmen I’m sure he backs himself to surprise a few and maybe snatch a win others don’t fancy him for.

Do you reckon Fury will ever have a serious fight again? He seems to do a good job keeping himself visible, so people seem to expect it's just a matter of time before he's back in the ring. Really, though, he's got an absolute mountain to climb.
Agree with you in comparison to Joshua. Fury is like the anti-AJ - in that underneath it all he's probably a good bloke.

The longer he’s out the harder it’ll be I’m sure . I think Joshua was calling him out as he’d love to fight him before he has a chance to get a few under his belt .

I do think he’ll come back but I’m not sure any of us really know what we’ll get until he is back in the ring .

Last chance saloon you'd imagine for De Gale tonight, looked like the Jack fight took a lot out of him.

Still potentially big money fights for him this side of the pond if he can come through tonight, just a case of whether or not the appetite is still there for it.

Scrappy fight that last night, would have been uproar had the joke deduction cost De Gale, opens up some doors for him now and a few will fancy beating him too.

Good fight? Will have to catch up with it in the week.

Been watching some Edwin Valero fights this week. Was a top fighter, just a shame about his life outside the ring. Valero vs Pacquiao at lightweight would of been a classic.

Very scrappy, lots of head clashes resulting in bad cuts for both, no classic but worth a watch if you can catch it.

They were on a collision course at the time, few people say Valero hadn't fought anyone of real note but he just looked as though he had something special, it would have been a dream match up. Like you said, a shame, poor fella had serious demons.

Defo watch it. Fancied Lara to win though.

Very talented fighter. He had it all, could do everything. I think they were close to fighting in early 07 but injuries prevented it, or he could of been banned from fighting in certain states due to to his charges. Very special fighter, always used to be on Setanta. Nobody wanted to fight him either. I think they are making a movie based on him!

I'm guessing the Frampton and Khan bouts may clash tonight, I'll prob watch Frampton live and record the Khan bout.

It'll be interesting to see has Donaire anything left and has Frampton improved under Jamie Moore as their first bout together wasn't all that impressive.

Haven't a clue about Khans opponent but I'm guessing Hearn will keep feeding him and Brook handy bouts whilst building up a fight between the two.
