Boxing

Absolutely not. Agree with you completely.

and I suppose getting to an elite level and getting near to your target of a world championship will make you push harder and further than you sometimes should. like others have said, this should be recognised by your closest allies, ie; your cornermen, and they should act accordingly. when going into a match your are actually putting your life in your CORNERS hands.

boxing is the ultimate mental and physical sport. would love to be a world champ boxer.. does it get any better in sporting triumphs? I doubt it

Well its all relative that. But in terms of the gladiatorial battle, probably not.

And it is incredibly skilful. More so than what comes across on TV. Was in a bar in Bristol ages ago, nattering to a lad who was a semi pro boxer. A bouncer tried it on with him later that night, and jeez, the lump did not have a prayer. Only a small bloke as well, the boxer.

Probably its cos its another sport taken out of the national arena via Sky and Pay per View. Just lost interest.

boxing is an art form more than a sport.. making it to pro level boxing means you must have ninja like coordination and speed!

Yep. Last live cricket I watched was 2005 Ashes. Boxing gets on now and again, low grade stuff, but usually tune in if ITV etc have a card on.
Boxing is a lot more spread out now

Itv rarely . Channel 5 , spike , sky and box nation to name a few channels . Even Dave had the David Haye comeback. Broners fight next week is on spike though on a 24 hour delay. I'll just avoid the result .

......in the latest controversy I fear Eubank snr is taking unnecessary credit. I heard him say to his son it was pointless pummelling the head because it was having no impact, he should finish his opponent via body shots. He didn't tell his son to avoid head shots to protect his opponent as he's making out in post-fight interviews.

He's probably being honest (IMHO), but it just doesn't sit right seeing such an attention whore holding court on what might be a major tragedy for UK boxing. Be far better if he just piped down, but more chance of the sun rising in the west then Chris Eubank swerving a media opportunity.
