Boxing

Love Dave Allen, as a lot of people do, but he has real trouble putting sustained attacks together. His success against Fisher seems to say more about Fisher’s chin than any real improvement in Dave’s game.

Hope he can get his hands on a British title before he calls it a day though. Whatever happens he’s set for life.

I still think he can win a British title with the right fight. If it become vacant and he somehow gets matched in a winnable fight for it, then why not.

He can't cut it anywhere above domestic level, I think that's pretty much proven over and over by now and there's no shame in that.

He still has a lot to offer if he drops down a level from Makhmudov. The problem is that he can't seem to get motivated if he does that. I suspect he'll probably just have a couple more fights where he's overmatched, now he can pretty much fill sheffield arena. There's some very good heavyweights that don't sell tickets on their own that'll fancy a Dave Allen fight to boost their profile while probably cruising to a win.
