Boxing

I had it 115–113 for Crawford, though I gave Canelo the first round—it was razor-close, and could’ve gone either way.

What surprised me was how much weight was given (literally) to Canelo’s size advantage. Felt a bit overstated, especially considering Crawford’s reach and height. He didn’t look outmatched physically at all.

Nice to see it on Netflix—makes it more accessible—but the commentary was hard work. Too much speculation about what might happen, not enough sharp analysis of what was happening in the ring. I wanted blow-by-blow insight, not vague predictions.

I think that somehow my YouTube algorithm picked up that I was watching boxing on Netflix, and this video popped just up on my main screen:

I forgot what a beast Butterbean used to be! 😳

So for argument sake:
Peak Butterbean vs Peak Tyson… Who wins?

And: Peak Butterbean vs Peak Tyson Fury… Who wins? 🤔

I had it scored 115-113 for Crawford although I have Canelo the first round when it was very even.

I was a bit surprised how much currency was given on Canelos weight given Crawford taller and a longer reach.

Liked it being on Netflix but found the commentators hard work - seemed to be speculating on what could happen rather than giving me any great insight on what was happening blow by blow.
Same, though he edged the first.

Canelo is thicker set, that bulk allows him to absorb shots easier, he got tagged solidly and it didn't phase him, comms seemed to be suggesting that it was when we see similar on Crawford that the bout would tell, but it never panned out that way. Crawford was incredibly disciplined, and relied on the ref twice, one a near low blow he enquired about and then the obvious head clash which we didn't get the best angle of.

The endless hype train of dazn annoys me but it was creeping in with netflix, maybe we can't have our cake and eat it to. (dazn throwing money around made another player enter the market).

Can see it being a rematch, but these are 37 and 35 years old respectively, and I believe Alvarez has boxed the most elite level/championship rounds in history. That cost will arrive, I thought he lacked sharpness (compared to him say 5-6 years ago) not sure why he was trying for the over hand looping right hand wind mill either, say rounds 1-4, he never got close.

Fair cop though, two amazing champions.

Bud got it done.
Was the older man but looked stronger, fitter, faster.
I’d give Canelo 3 or 4 rounds, he was schooled. Crawford far too classy, once he knew he could take the power he stayed and traded.
Fabulous boxer, best of his generation.
