Boxing

Haye was a disgrace to be fair.

Only in it for the money it seems.

Money plays a big part but ego plays a bigger part I reckon. I don't think he was a disgrace. He wasn't looking for a way out of the fight soon as he could and the previous fight shows he doesn't go hiding when it gets tough.

The way he carries himself, the posturing and some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth are not to my taste but I believe he gets into the ring looking to win and has genuine belief in himself.

Looks like a boxer who'll have difficulty accepting that it's over for him and kids himself that his body can still deliver - a potentially harmful attitude but far from disgraceful.

Not quite hate is same height as bellew with a slightly longer reach.
Tyson is a lot bigger and taller than Bellew with better footwork and better speed than haye has now.

However never right Bellew off, if Bellew thinks he can best Tyson Fury I believe him

I think if tony gets the fight before fury is at his best he's got a chance, the same way he admits prime haye would of won.

oh i agree, i'm just pointing out they're the same reasons people said haye would smash bellew
Haye is well past his sell by date though, if it had been Haye in his prime without all the injuries he would have destroyed Bellew. I like Bellew but his boxing skills are pretty basic and he admits that himself as does Eddie Hearn who is his promoter, but he seems to have this inner strength that gets him through fights. Good on him, although i noticed at the end of that last night he was calling out Andre Ward and im not sure i would fancy his chances against Ward.

Haye without injuries would still have lost, well this older version of haye would of.
Haye back in 2010 would have beaten bellew.

Haye lost because his game relies on athletism which naturally declines with age. Hayes speed and timing was not good enough to deal with a fighter who has campaigned most his career at light heavyweight and cruiserweight.

He fought an over the hill haye who was clearly injured in both fights.
If you only count the rounds haye wasnt injured in, haye would easily have won. He took him to round 11 in the first fight ffs.
If haye again wasnt injured he would easily have won both fights even at 37.

Have to take my hat off to Tony. He backed it up...was by far the more intelligent fighter on the night, but I agree, Prolly best leave it now and enjoy his life with wife n kids without being punchdrunk. Good fight that tho...really enjoyed it !!

Did you honestly enjoy the actual fight ? Or just enjoy seeing Bellew win cos he's a blue ?

I thought the fight, very quickly became a formality as Haye looked utterly void of ideas and totally lacking fitness.

Amazed Bellew fought with a cracked rib though, and he clearly didn't want that news getting out.

I actually enjoyed it..if you read back i was massively against Bellew and hated the fact that just being an evertonian kinda makes you a fan...I was in the Haye camp. But in all honesty I thought Haye would have too much for Bellew...how wrong I was. It was the best Tony's looked in a long time but I hope he does the right thing and hangs up the gloves now. He's proved his point and his family are massively better off than they were. Time to chillout and retire on a high.

Completely disagree - if he can grab a world title fight or a high profile name and fill out a massive arena or even a stadium, he'd be stupid not to take it. His career in terms of legacy is meaningless - he's not going to be considered an 'all time great' no matter what he does.

If he can wing the Fury fight, get leathered but earn millions upon millions from the box office of it, it's a no brainer for him.
