Boxing

It was boxing with the brain, with possibly some assistance by a poor ref. Tactical masterclass and never in any danger
tactical master class is stretching it . He done what he had to do ( no shame in that) without putting himself in any danger as there are even bigger paydays ahead . He definitely proved though he can stick to a plan and go 12 rounds so it was a good nights work . Tactical master class and an excellent fight are extreme though lol

It weren’t a masterclass but it was a very solid improvement on using his boxing abilities. They had a good game plan, it worked. Joshua is someone who needs the rounds in, he needs to learn his craft a lot more in the ring. He could do that with Parker on Saturday. He stuck behind the jab, kept his guard up and picked him off with the jab with ease. Parker didn’t know how to cope with that. I thought Joshua lost the first round on Saturday, just due to Parker been the busier and throwing more shots(not many landed) From the second til the 5th round I thought he boxed very well, best he’s boxed in the pro’s from a technical point. He needs to move his head more and faint to set traps for these top tier heavyweights. Although he’s a world champion, he’s still pretty green in the pro ranks and he needs those rounds in to gain the experience.

it wasn’t an excellent fight at all . It wasnt the worse fight ever either but there was nothing excellent about it .

it was one of them fights where he had to be tactically astute, very similar to leo santa cruz v Frampton II.. Santa cruz had to fight against his natural intstinct to pile in on his oppo, like Joshua normally does.

its actually shown us a side of AJ that a lot thought he never had, the ability to out wit and out box his opponent, and keep everything out of range and focus on his jab a lot more.

boring, Yes, but ultimately for the best, and to win another belt

yeah no problem with how he fought and he needs the rounds and experience. It was a good nights work for him. The ref didn’t exactly help Parker though . Not that I think it would of made much of a difference .

When Parker tried on the inside he was getting tied up by Joshua. At times the ref had no choice but to break them up. He jumped in far to quickly on other times though.

Hearn using Whyte to try and keep Povetkin and Wilder away from Joshua lol

It will be AJ v Jarrell Miller next (n)

Is Povetkn mandatory for WBA or WBO next? He’s definitely mandatory for one of them.

Hearn stated to boxingscence that they would like to get another fight in before Wilder. I don’t think Joshua is ready for Wilder just yet, but we would all like to see it.

Whyte vs Povetkin would be an excellent fight. Definitely like to see that one, great match up. Be a right tear up. Great match up of styles. Rather see that fight than Joshua vs Povetkin. Be the same performance from Joshua against Povetkin to the one at the weekend.

Not sure on this but sure I read the IBF have ordered Miller to fight Pulev for number one contenders spot for IBF. If Joshua fights in America next, it will 100% against Miller.

I’m off for 2 weeksnow with it been half term so gonna watch some fights this week. I’ve dug out so far

Froch vs Pascal
Hopkins vs Pavlik
Pavlik vs Taylor 1
Trinidad vs Fernando Vargas
Trinidad vs Whittaker
De la Hoya vs Whittaker

Seen those fights numerous times. If you haven’t already seen it. The is a documentary called legendary nights about the fights. Really good watch.

You ever seen the Rafael Marquez vs Israel Vasquez fights? 4 fights in total. The first 3 fights are up there with award vs Gatti.
