Boxing

There's rumours of substance abuse around him, which if true won't have helped his mental state.

Personally I think he attained his ultimate goal when he won the first fight, I think despite the money on offer that he's struggled to motivate himself beyond that.

I tend to agree with Hearn, I'm not sure we'll ever see him in the ring again.

He won the lottery by getting Klitschko on an amazing off night. He never intended to box again and he'd have lost in his first defence.

The worst heavyweight champion of all time in my view. Makes Buster Douglas look like Lennox Lewis in comparison.

I think Haye could cause Joshua problems tbh, as he's a clever fighter. I can't see Hearn rushing to make that fight personally.

And agree. Haye hits well and, crucially, moves very well, even now from what I've seen of him lately. Joshua doesn't move his head enough for me and we haven't seen him face anyone mobile.

It'd be a test of Joshua's power and/or stamina, let's put it that way, as he'd either have to stop Haye early, or outlast him and stop him late. If it went 12 rounds, would be amazed if it wasn't a Haye win on points.

In fairness he was brilliant in Germany, got his tactics spot on and deservedly won the fight.

The re-match would have been interesting and not a foregone conclusion by any means.

Agreed.

Haye would be 'in and out' much like he did with that huge freak he got in with a few years back. He's now got the power to match the speed and I think he could potentially cause an upset. That said, as with all Joshuas fights so far, if he gets you on the back foot and sees an opportunity, you're hitting the canvas.

I don't think he did much tactically - I think he just pawed a glove in Klitschkos face all night, while Klitschko did nothing. I don't think he threw his right had more than twice the entire fight, it was surreal. Both didn't look like actual boxers.

Klitschko may be finished, but he looked beyond finished that night. He couldn't be that bad again.

I'd have Klitschko an odds on favourite, but we'll never know, because Fury has no desire whatsoever to defend that belt, which means he has more intelligence than I give him credit for. What does baffle me is why he's left it so late to withdraw - was he hoping for a Klitschko injury or something?
