Boxing

Askren is a non-striking retired wrestler who just took the big payday and wasn't arsed.

Paul caught him with a half decent shot early and Askren took his chance to leave.

Don't blame him in the slightest.
Oh me either. I'm just not having it that he couldn't continue.

Just watched Hagler v Leonard. Shocked anyone thinks Hagler won that fight. Won about 3 rounds.
He didn't win, but Leonard didn't win either - Chris Froome does boxing. You don't take the champion's belt off him by squeaking a 50/50 - so decision should never have gone his way IMO.

Was always far more of a Hagler fan but Leonard doing that transcends boxing and has to be one of the greatest comebacks in sport. No serious fight for five years and taking on Marvin Hagler for the middleweight championship?
I mean he picked his spot, knew MH was over the hill, but even so - getting up off the couch for a fight like that you'd be taking your life in your hands.

I kept my own scorecard lol as I knew it was a controversial decision. Personally I had Leonard 4 up. Hagler looked v tired by the the last third to me.

Honestly, I much prefer Hagler, Duran, Hearns' style of fighting. For example, in the No Mas fight I thought Leonard was rubbish; he just ran away. IMO though I thought he scored more significant punches v Hagler.

Epic comeback, didn't realise he was out so long!

When he first came through, he was touted as a big hitter and a smart boxer. Now he's struggling to get shut of nobodies like Baluta. Booth is a shocking coach.

Can be on the verge of a title shot all he wants, he's gone backwards

I don't think he has gone backwards, he has zero punch power which is the big problem with going up through the levels
