First one I remember was winning 2-1 at Sunderland Boxing Day 1984 but the first one I attended was beating Man Utd 3-1 a year later with 2 Graeme Sharp goals and one from Gary Lineker after conceding the customary very early goal as we bizarrely did many times in 85/86. I was only a kid then and have never seen the goals anywhere since. It was played during the infamous tv blackout of that season.

Another one which stands out for the wrong reasons was in 1994 in terrible conditions against Sheff Wed and us going a goal up through Big Dunc. We then proceeded to concede 2 goals in a minute after just going 6 games without letting a goal in! Everton that! We ended up getting hammered 4-1 to a bang average side.

It's striking how quick they got the ball back to the centre spot to restart after each goal.

True and how quickly the players left the pitch at the final whistle, no showboating for the cameras then.

My first Boxing Day game as well

They gave a debut to a young Andy Ritchie who absolutely stole the show.
The pain of being at that game was eased by the fact I was thoroughly hungover from drinking almost a bottle of gin the day previous.

Two games from the late 1990s - a truly horrendous game V Derby County, possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen, neither team made a single chance. Then a year later demolishing a pretty good Sunderland side 5 - 0.

I think Sunderland in 1983 was even worse than that Derby County game. Closely followed by Coventry at home on NYE in 1983.
One of those games used to hold the record (still might do)for the shortest game highlights on MOTD.
