Oh very much yes. I used to love getting a Bovril at the game, but I nearly suffered 1st degree burns once and couldnt feel anything in my mouth for days. So I steer clear now.

A richmans oxo, stuff Etonians drink enough said, Tranmere always did the best half time oxo and they serve little white baps to dunk in it, happy days those Tranmere Friday night matches(y)

There's a scene in one of my favourite old b&w films, In Which We Serve, starring Noel Coward and Celia Johnson. Coward is the captain of a ship bringing soldiers back from Dunkirk. It's all a bit stiff upper lip and plummy accents.

At one stage a crusty army officer, standing on the bridge of Cowards ship, says to him

"This drink you've given me is bally marvellous. What is it?"

Coward replies "It's just Bovril rather heavily laced with sherry..."

"Is that all? Bloody marvellous!"

Actually does sound rather nice - perhaps on a cold day....
