I enjoyed that apart from the usual stress until we got the second goal. Let them see too much of our goal for my liking but we defended well enough overall especially from set pieces. Our final ball still gets me a bit annoyed because we do not turn enough promising positions into chances/goals but I would have bitten your hand off for that before the game so job done as far as I am concerned and bring on another away draw with a big ticket allocation!!

By far from a vintage display but we ground out a result and that's what mattered.

Definite penalty to them and McCarthy made a stupid error. Fortunately we got off the hook.

Got a huge slice of luck with the deflection but as I've said time and time again luck always plays a part in football. Against WBA all of the deflected efforts went just off-target, for example.

The Lukaku goal should have stood but it was tight and fortunately we didn't need it to in the end. Killed the game off well in the last 10 minutes or so as well, though I had been crying out for a pro-active change from Martinez around the 65th/70th minute mark.

Robles - 8
Coleman - 6
Jagielka - 7
Mori - 6
Oviedo - 6
McCarthy - 6
Barry - 7
Lennon - 6
Barkley - 7
Cleverley - 5
Lukaku - 6

Robles 8 seems harsh. What more does he need to do except face more shots?

Save for WBA having all the luck of a double lottery winner, we would now be looking back on five straight wins and just one conceded.

The common denominator? Joel and Mori, both of them were mighty impressive again tonight - the defence couldn't account for McCarthy's sad act identical twin giving the pen, but as a whole did well.

That said, Coleman still needs to up his game massively, but ultimately, this was everything the league game wasn't.

Most importantly though, a win to nil at Goldsands - which slayed a few demons - a 1/4 final berth (no Liverpool in the hat!!!), and a performance which was another combination of Moyes & Martinez' best managerial qualities.

Play like this at Villa in the next prem game, and there will be absolute carnage.
Jags fit as well, he's England's first choice for a reason

Lukakus miserable dial is a concern lately, face like A bulldog
licking waz off a thistle even after scoring...

We can add it to the list.
We can't defend
Martinez doesn't have any tactics
Martinez doesn't play our favourite players.
Martinez doesn't play the right style.
The board are rubbish.
The Americans will bankrupt us.
Barkley doesn't pass when we think he should.
Lukaku looks sad.

I'm sure there is more.
