Boss photos you've taken

Found a baby Desert Tortoise while doing the rounds at work, it's now safe in a local environmental center as they're a protected species. 'Bout the size of a large egg...thought it was a rock at first, until it moved. Not supposed to touch them if you come across one while hiking (which is rare) but somehow this little guy got in to a residential area.

nice, love all that sh!t

but when you say "size of an egg"... I know everything's bigger in America, what kind of egg we talking here ???

he does look tiny, actually may well be a she due to the protrusion under the head x

If you were looking down on your average sized chicken agg from above; about that size but obviously wider all 'round. Should've taken a pic of it in my hand for reference but I was more worried about getting it to an appropriate home. Considered keeping it myself but it's quite an ordeal...you literally have to adopt them from the State and a lot of other stipulations go along with it because of their status.

Amazing to find a tortoise like that m8. Cool or what? :)

Anyway - I have got my....

NEW EOS 7D!

Here's a few from today:

3 photos, one a caterpillar I'm not 100% sure of yet (the one eating) and then what I'm fairly sure is a sawfly larva (the one with the nice eye, and note, that was at ISO 4000, with some NR) and finally a big and beautiful, wonderful Elephant Hawk Moth larva, a caterpillar I haven't seen since my childhood days, so it was great to have one of these n the garden (made the wife scream mind you, lol)...

Lads

Nikon COOLPIX P310 or Nikon COOLPIX L820. Both under $200 on amazon at the minute and the wife's gonna lean toward the smaller one for carrying reasons. Do I need to twist her arm to get the 820? and if so why should my argument be.

Pete - image quality would be as good from either one of these, so it's down to size and looks really m8.

How the [Poor language removed]? I took a sort of out of focus macro of a wasp the other day and I was buzzing.

Brilliant pictures them mate, well in. I need a macro lens sharpish.

I used 2 extension tubes on #1 and #2 m8, and the 3rd was just so big I coldn't get enough of it in focus - it was almost 4 inches long!

Add to that some clever Photoshop editing to make them look even better! :)

Looks smart that mate. Do you actually have a mohawk, a la Mr T, or is a receding hairline like I have mate?

In fact hang on, Dad?

I thought I might get comments like that. At least you didn't say I looked like a minion as my niece did! It's receding at the sides so always looks like that after a haircut when looked at from that angle. I think I might get the clippers out and do a bit of pruning. Great to get the shirt in time for my holiday though. I will wear it proudly in some Cretan bar when we play Chelsea (y)
