not that high anyway, Salkantay and some others in SA but you start from altitude anyway so it doesn't feel as bad

Salcantay is slightly higher, just over 20,000 ft. At those heights, starting at altitude is dangerous, you will surely need some acclimatisation?

yeah of course.
we were in Cusco for a week leading upto it, we didn't summit by the way, we just trekked the pass,
still hard work though

Always wanted to go to South America, will have to persuade mr the esk :)

Highest peak I have climbed is Shkhara in Georgia, 17,040 feet, very enjoyable.
 
Where this guy came from is a mystery as they're defo not indigenous to this here cactus country as far as I'm aware...
