Collembola - (Globular springtails)

Large crops because these globular springtails were so tiny - and thus not as sharp as I had hoped for. They are less than the size of a pin head.

A beautiful looking bird with a gruesome feeding habit. The butcher bird (Shrike), it impales it's prey (insects, beetles, lizards, mice and small birds) on thorns. :eek:

Red Back Shrike U.K. population possibly as low as 1-3 pairs.

@kev another of your favourite butchers! I think? Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s a Woodchat Shrike. I actually caught a photo of it with something in its mouth (a worm I think but a little blurred unfortunately)
