20 mate, so the moyes era is the best ive seen. Was too young to remember the cup in 95.

You need some success mate. We dont want lad in their 30's saying their best time is an away game meaning very little in reality, and then you have 16, 17 and 18 year old Kopites / United / Chelsea fans laughing at us!!

No offence to you mate, but just goes to show how content we are about winning nothing.

I am old enough to remember '95 and young enough to remember it well, and the amazing feeling I had the next morning I walked into the playground at school as a blue with his head held high was immense. For the first time ever, everyone else wanted to talk to me about footy rather than the clique of RS t!ts who'd started as they meant to go on with their customary nobbish attitude.

But that was the end of the previous era in football, and only the fledgling days of the contemporary financial juggernaut that is the EPL. Times have changed and those days are virtually unrecognisable compared with today. We simply cannot be expected to compete consistently at the top echelons of the modern English game until we find a location which permits us to expand our club footprint and bring in gate revenues befitting our relatively large local support base.

Until we achieve this, I'll be quite content with being the die-hard little scouse club that's always worth a bet when it comes to sending the big boys packing, and consistently finishing as one of the top 10 clubs in the country (if not top 5). I can't reasonably expect anything more from the club while things off the pitch remain as they are, and therefore don't demand amazing things on the pitch as a fan. Doesn't mean to say it isn't appreciated when we get to Wembley or finish 4th though. But those occasions are achievements in their own right - just because a few beaut pundits regularly see fit to pick up on it for a MOTD, SSN or FF soundbite doesn't mean that it's a notion based in fiction. It's not.

We're doing bloody well all things considered, and knee jerk attempts to relive the glory days too soon will only lead to embarrassment rather than the respect we all know we fully deserve. That, or a calamity financial implosion a la Leeds or Portsmouth. No thanks, I'll take us as we are for now.

No offence taken mate, you dont need to tell me that we need to win something! 21 in a few months and the only thing that we have won in my lifetime, ****in hell lifetime, i cant remember for being too young! I'd take winning the cup over finishing 4th everytime.
