Good luck with the completion of the book. I will be after a copy when you finish. Will spread the word!
THE MORE THE BETTER. A LOT OF WORK HAS GONE INTO THIS. it's JUST A QUESTION AND ANSWERS WITHOUT PICTURES BUT SOME GREAT STORIES FROM YESTERYEARS PLAYERS.

.....recall Treblecock being very difficult for the club to track down some years ago because he was living in the Australian outback, presume that's no longer the case. Have to admit not remembering Bobby Laverick, although I can recall a Laverick playing for QPR. Is John Hills the full back Joe Royle got from Blackpool after we knocked them out of the Youth Cup? Don't remember him playing many 1st team games.

Would be great if you could track down Bernie Wright. Not sure what happened to him. Champion chess player who apparently had a few fisticuffs at Bellfield. Arms like Popeye, I reckon he has some stories. Archie Styles also sounded interesting on the radio recently. He was makeweight in the Latchford deal, but he looked a decent player.

Never see anything about Dave Watson ?, when you consider he was the last captain to lift a pot it's a strange like.

I might be wrong but I think he works as the head of Newcastles academy?

Not sure if anyone can confirm this or tell me I'm talking through my ass?

Good luck top with the book AB I'll keep an eye out for it.

...think he's youth coach at Blackburn or somewhere. When he was playing he would often be seen with his kids in tow watching the youth games at Bellfield. He'd say his missus told him to take the kids out so where better. Always seemed a good lad and top pro.

Has an ex player I don't recall him being a guest at Everton on match day, could be wrong like.

Must be up there as one of the "hardest" fellas to play for the club old Waggy, remember him turning out with cracked ribs and everything, would put his head on the line literally every week for us,hard but fair, great Evertonian Dave.

...just looked up Bernie Wright, says Everton fans remember him for accidently breaking the toe of Sheffield United defender Eddie Colquhoon when making a diving header. Hard as nails, remember just laughing at sleeves rolled up but getting stuck on his biceps. Imagine him and Big Duncan in the same team. Apparently lives in the midlands and worked as a fork-lift truck driver.

Bally. I'm a member of the EFC Heritage Society and early last season we started doing displays upstairs in St Luke's.
We've also done book signings with Neville Southall, Kevin Sheedy and others.
We'd be delighted to do similar for you.
Let me know if you'd be interested.
Good luck with it.
Cheers
