6-0

Was there for that too. That last goal was sublime. Gerald sindstadt enjoyed it aswell.

Cut short at the end there...

" Six Nil for Everton, What a Win & What as they in those parts a Boss Tracky Laar, a benchmark being set at Goodison there in Footballing Terms & Fashion."

Dave Thomas though, 'SUBLIME' I think is the word you think of when you see those crosses, that chip 1 for about the 4th goal.

I liked him,it all went a bit wrong probably the start of the 79-80 season,Latch,Dobbo,Thomas were all after improved deals,I remember we started that season at home to Norwich, the attendance was well down on the previous season,I don't think any of them played,Thomas and Dobbo left soon afterwards while Latch returned to have a decent season,we could have still rescued the season with the FA Cup and then the next season against City in the Quarter Final, but the footballing gods didn't shine on us or Gordon, but certainly for a couple of years at least I thought he was building a very good and entertaining team which I enjoyed watching, and relatively nowadays we would have qualified twice for the Champions League,he was known as a "dour" boss but that side certainly wasn't dour.

Gordon Lee is thought of very fondly everywhere but Goodison.

Probably cos of Duncan McKenzie, fans dont like to see a favourite not receiving the same affections from a manager, then when you end up winning nothing it comes back to haunt him.

Latch was for me before my time however he did score in my first ever game 2-6 v Man U 1977,I have very little if any memory of the game,I was 6

for some weird reason whenever he's mentioned I always remember him playing for Merthyr Tydfil against Atalanta on HTV

"If I wanted to see a clown,I'd go to the bloody circus"that didn't endear himself to us when talking about Dunc, funny thoughlollollol
