Yay......I knew I hadn't imagined that ;)

Cheers, lesbleus.

Ya see that, Dario.......my mind hasn't gone after all.

And it was Rod Belfitt scored that hat trick in the 9-0 thrashing of Saints in '71.....not Alex Young....:p
I thought it was 8. I was 11 and a bus crashed into the back of my dads car on the way to the game. Never got there:mad:

Royle and Latchford played a few games together at the start of 74/75 (the season when we blew it and Derby won the title)

For the record it was 8-0 (Royle 4, Johnson 3, Ball) and it snowed throughout the game - coming a week after David Johnson's winner over the RS - it was the first game we had an electronic scoreboard (on the front of the Park End Stand) 5-0 at half time (and I was sat in the Upper Gwladys).

Bob Latchford managed to outdo Joe with 5 against Wimbledon (also 8-0 and Dobbo got a hat-trick as well).

So you say, Dan.

But me and Dario, we know better.

It was 9-0 and Alex Young and Rod Belfitt both scored hat tricks.

And we can see every one of those goals in our minds eye :)

That kindly Nurse Ratchett is letting us watch the Arsenal game on TV tomorrow

Bob never elbowed Paulo Wanchope and got himself sent off pushing us towards the relegation zone.So it's Bob for me,and then if we start taking into account football ability and all around goal scoring prowess .........

I was sat on the front row of the Upper Park End, directly behind the new scoreboard. We got told off because our scarves (tied to our wrists of course) were falling in front of the scoreboard lol

Dave Thomas had a big say in Bob's legendary status too...
Suppose Dunc never had that kind of service

Latch all day .

Latchford and Dave Thomas was one of those combinations that every manager and fan dreams about. An almost telepathic understanding with each other. The thing is Thomas always wore mouldees no matter how muddy the pitch was and never wore shins either . It didn't seem to affect his ability in any way what so ever.

Duncan was my hero.

His celebrations after his goal at 1:37 mark just shows how much he loved/loves our club.

Marvellous.

Sometimes it is way too easy to forget how good Duncan was and what he meant to us.

When we had nowt we had Big Dunc.....and he became sommat we could cling to in the hope of better days to come.

:)

And he would have brought us those better days but for one baldy Italian
