I actually saw this earlier tonight when i was looking up Birmingham history and came across this very subject, hoodlums and bad hats of the Second city on charges of drunken japes or inappropriate behavior, whatever constituted that 100 years ago..

in fact, it's not that different now, have relatives in Kings Norton and most of the pubs around there last I looked were boarded up, but were still maybe in use, I was told, 'don't go in'

there's a nice Irish bar right outside the bus garage (Digbeth) that was still there before that's worth a look, and it has the a BT tower just like London, but the accents, :dodgy:
