I've seen this guys name appear in the worst Everton player of all time list a couple of times - surely this has to be a mistake!

I know it was wasted, but this boy had some talent.

perhaps the context of the article you read has been misunderstood. he was the worst waste of talent perhaps the club has ever seen.

there is very little footage of him playing, but people who know about spotting talent were very excited about his ability. he was only 19 when he won the man of the match award in an anfield derby.

I remember seeing Vinny Jones try to intimidate him when we played Wimbledon many years back, putting in a pretty terrible tackle about 5 minutes in, and thinking he wouldn't seeing anything more from him for the rest of the game.

About 10 minutes later Billy Kenny did the same to Vinny Jones (except a strong, fair tackle) and Jones didn't get close to him for the rest of the game. That has always stuck with me.

Billy was a very decent player who I thought would make it big time but, and no doubt it helped him into the worst player list, he willingly pressed the self destruct button with the old drug abuse which makes him worse than most in my book. He let not just himself down but also every Blue who admired his undoubted talent
