Whenever a section of the support raised their concern or protested against this chairman they were immediately shot down, whether that be on a forum or at the ground. It was like Bill Kenwright was made of Teflon. But it took Everton FC to be on the verge of collapse for the fans to finally open their eyes. I cannot think of another set of supporters who are as docile as ours.

Being temporarily in the lead against anyone at all is enough for people to forget about any wider issues that are affecting the club. Winning one in 3 is enough to keep 70% quiet. It’s only when we haven’t won a game in 3 months that something approaching a majority will pipe up.
