I think that concludes the minute silence for her debate

At the school that I teach at (some 200 odd miles from L4), we have "core values" which we promote each half term. This half term it is "compassion" and it was my turn to deliver the assembly today. It's hard to explain what compassion means, even to adults, never mind 7-11 year olds and I was struggling for a way to do it. Kenwright's speech solved that problem for me. I spoke about how I was a young man 24 years ago, not even celebrating my own team reaching the final. I showed the whole of Kenwright's speech. The kids were mesmerised and actually clapped at the end.

Clint, I think this is wonderful, you should let the club know all about it. xx

Sorry Bryan, like i said, i wasn't intending to be insensitive. I was more agreeing with the original quote from Joe, who was shot down for saying he also felt Bill was insincere. I agreed, and said as much.

As for using the other threads, this was the Bill Kenwright speech thread wasnt it? I thought this was the appropriate place to respond.

I am totally appalled by the things that happened that day, and hope that all of the people involved get the Justice they deserve, but amongst all of the positive comments about Kenwright, i felt some balance was required, to reflect the thoughts of people he didn't impress.

The difference here, pal, is that Kenwright couldn't really give one whether he impressed you or not, he c ouldn't really give one whether he impressed anyone. What he did want to do however, is let the people who were directly affected by this awful tragedy, that regardless of what football team we support, we stand shoulder to shoulder in OUR fight for justice. You need to leave your feelings to one side, and to be fair, step away from the internet.

On TodayFM (Irish Indie Station) today the presenter particularly mentioned BK's speech and said that he made everyone proud, not just Evertonians. The presenter is a WHU fan, and has never shown any interest in EFC, so it was interesting to hear it.

Personally, I didn't hear it but fair play if he hit the right chord on this sad anniversary.
