Biggest game you've missed?

Having to work late evenings and weekends soemtimes sadly mean I miss loads. I wont be able to watch Subday either ffs

Missed the 3-0 derby win in 2006. Promised a mate i'd take part in a rugby match to make up numbers, genuinely though i'd at-least be finished in time to watch. Missed it all.. hated the sport ever since!

In saying that, don't really talk to my mate that much more either! lol

I won't count before this year, because most games weren't televised in the States and streams were awful, but this year every league match is on television (for some cable providers), so I have missed some important matches this year through something other than lack of access.

I miss pretty much all mid-week games, because even with the late kickoff, it's during work hours. And I missed Chelsea because I was working on that Saturday...went into our kitchen area around the 90th minute and the match was on! And then Terry headed home. And I wished I was back at my desk.

But since I miss all the midweek games, the one that sucks most is United, I wasn't even able to follow the match thread for that one.

Never admitted it before but......

I missed the 1997 Coventry game. My step dad didn't want to take me in case it was dangerous if the worst case scenario happened.

Lied to all my school mates after that saying i was there.

missed the fa cup peno at chelsea. Went to play football, assumed we'd get smashed, started playing it was still 0-0, like towards end of first half, then heard that it was 1-0 chelsea, so just assumed the worst. No ones told me anything since, then my mate who's playing for a different team on the same pitch after tells us won on pens. Told him he was messing with me, then he showed me on his phone, we had just lost a big cup game, but i picked him up and went mental!!

Then we lost to reading.

Was in work during the 4-4 United game. I checked the scores three times: when we were 1 up, at 2-1 down, and then 4-4 FT. Couldn't believe it, spent the rest of the day cursing the fact that I missed it!

My wife had to leave for work right before the Lampard goal.

She's a huge blue and was crushed that we had to do that on a day she worked. I think that's the day that I really got it though. Bainesy standing over the free kick at like 119 minutes...mmm Johnny with the shoulder to Cole.

My first ever match was supposed to be the Arsenal game where Rooney scored, as it was my birthday. I told my Dad I would prefer Fulham at home instead as we stood a better chance of winning. Mixed emotions in the 90th minute of that game!

Missed City last season cos lads cup game went to extra-time & pens.

Found out last night that his Cup Semi on Sunday has moved from 10:30 k.o. to 12:00 k.o. at the moment I'm going to our game but could very possibly go to his instead which would rule our game out.

At the moment I'm going to The Match, but his game is against the most feral team in the league, a team that when we last played against them was littered with 'incidents' including our keeper collecting a ball and a lad carrying on a good 10 yards to boot him in the chest, same lad tried a couple of leg breakers on my lad but he was too fast for him, then at the end of the game tried another but missed the lad completely cos he really was that late, resulting in the lad from our team chasing him round the pitch screaming "you better keep running cos if you stop I'll kill ya" referee showing a distinct lack of fitness while tryin' to catch him to stop him. Same lads 'arl fella was kicking off on touchline threatening folk etc.
So, it's on my mind to go instead of the Mrs, obviously it's difficult to stop anything on the pitch but if all the parents are kicking off then they're that feral they'd go for a kid & also the Mrs would stop him altogether if she thought it s like that every week.... we have to play them 2 more times in league as well.
It really is in the sweaty bit of the arse of Wigan.

5-0 Man U, october 1984, smacked my beige Ford Cortina in to the back of someone else's car on the way to the game.
