Looks like Stephane M'Bia isn't coming, Rennes won't budge supposedly. He was priority for me, we needed a tall physcial defensive midfielder:

"Castillo’s signing will be a particular relief for David Moyes, who has been desperate to add a player of stature to his midfield all summer and the powerful 26-year-old - capped 33 times by his country - will do just that."

Stature? The lads [Poor language removed] 5ft 11, we need more height than that. Leighton Baines definatly isn't getting a game this season we'll always have to worry about the height of the team as a whole.

I'm dissapointed that we can't even sign one of our key signings, ridiculous to be honest.

1 inch? if he was 6 ft everyone would be sayin we've finally added a bit of height, gettin really picky here, should be glad it means no neville jags partnership in the middle. (fingers crossed)

I'd prefer 6ft 2 to be honest.:dodgy:

Big Ste has been priority all summer, he should be signed.

Thats the worst excuse for a player not being good enough. The rest team aren't big enough. Lol. Translation - Moyes bought Baines and doesn't want to come out and admit he has made a mistake

Course he is, the book aint been close by either clubs at the moment. Sporting have said meet the price, we're taking a [Poor language removed] long time to meet it.

If we do get him, that's the kitty spent. Thinking about it, it seems like bagging these loans gives us cover to buy Moutinho if we can. We wont be buying a cheeky £6-£9 million players if we bag Moutinho. It'll be three we've got on loan, maybe another defender we're linked with, and Moutinho.

Here's hoping by the weekend eh?

I don't want to get into this again to be honest, we both have different opinions.

With or without Baines in the team I still think the team still lacks height. We need more presence in midfield and more aerial ability at set pieces.

There arent any quotes from Moyes or the club in that article about not giving up on Moutinho. To be honest if we could match their asking price, or valued him at that, then we'd have him by now, I really dont see us leaving it this late then finally agreeing a fee for him.

I hope I'm wrong, but I dont think there will be any big signings coming in. We've exhausted all avenues and now we're resorting to brinign in players we probably know little about, hence the 1 year deals.

Apart from the 60% majority who voted for it you mean?

I can't let this pass without making a comment.
60% of people who got a vote seemingly voted yes, and even that figure is up for interpretation.

My main qualm with the Kirkby situation is, I didn't get a vote, I'm a season ticket holder, didn't get a vote when I was told I would, neither did my dad, neither did a friend of mine, all season ticket holders who are entitled to a say in a matter of such magnitude.

And every individual I spoke to before and since the vote has said they didn't want to go, so maybe I just spoke to everyone who came from the 40% side? Not impossible, but improbable.

Rooney went on the final day and Yak came on the final day so you can never say never. Theres other clubs interested in big signings or so we're led to believe and they still havent made deals for them. While theres days left theres hope i spose. All we've got is hope.

I thought maybe we were just a few unlucky ones that didnt get votes but strange that 3 out of 4 didnt. And who did the counting of the votes that actually did get posted ? I feel decieved and cheated over this and you know what ? Not one of us wanted to go there so 60% doesnt wash with me.

Which is why I think, if we do or eventually did get Moutinho we'd throw all our transfer money at him. Its logical that if we threw 18mill for the player a few months back we'd have no one else that would come in and we'd rely on trying to getting loans. But if you dont get any loans, like the Tiago and Love saga's a few weeks ago, you're pushing it more than we are now.

Tiago and Love we rumoured to be loans, so Moyes might have had this in mind while we were under-valuing Moutinho, or at least seraching for other targets. We offer a certain amount, see if they'd budge, then search for other players we maybe could get with the money like an M'Bia or Riera.

Why aint we bought M'Bia? Cos Rennes want 10mill for him, same with Cana etc, and Riera turned us down. We might only have 20mill to spend and we're pushing it to end of the window till all options are gone to throw it at one player. Big gamble. But now a DM and a striker as well as a RB and maybe another CB or Keeper on loan, we're covered to make that gamble.

All bollocks like, but might happen.

Henrik Larsson is concidering bids from 3 prem clubs. Are we one of them ??? Afterall he did play for Celtic, one of Moyesys old clubs. Just a thought.
