BBC says we're still chasing Moutinho --

"Everton set for Castillo signing

Castillo moved to Red Star in 2006 from El Nacional

Everton are set to complete the signing of midfielder Segundo Castillo from Red Star Belgrade, subject to a medical.
The 26-year-old Ecuador international's move is subject to his successfully obtaining a work permit.
Castillo has made 33 appearances for his country and will become manager David Moyes' second summer capture.
Everton are also being linked with gifted Nigerian striker Victor Obinna, who has just signed for Inter Milan but may be loaned out to gain experience.
Moyes and chairman Bill Kenwright have also not given up hope of luring Sporting Lisbon's Joao Moutinho to Goodison Park, although the Portuguese side are holding out for what would be a club record £18m fee.
Castillo had been on trial at Blackburn Rovers, but they could not agree terms with Red Star.

Let's hope Moyes is saving all the money for a massive name

neilosleeman

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Castillo played in three out of Ecuador's four 2006 World Cup games, including the 1-0 defeat to England.
Before moving to the Serbian side in 2006, he played for Ecuadorian club El Nacional after starting his career with El Deportivo ESPOLI.
Moyes has been frustrated in his attempts to add to his squad this season, but Castillo will join Denmark full-back Lars Christian Jacobsen at Goodison Park. The departure of Lee Carsley at the beginning of the summer left a midfield hole for Moyes to fill this season and the news of Castillo's potential signing will please Everton fans, especially after Juventus midfielder Tiago rejected a loan move last week."

Fanning the hope dreams but, everything from both parties has gone quiet unless I've missed a report somewhere

From what I gather NO big signings on permanent deals coming in. [Poor language removed] happens.

Damn mate, i have a feeling Moyesey wont waste wedge unless its for players he actually wants, we could see a top ten finish this season anything else a bonus, if what you say and you know i believe you is true!

So what has happened to the £15 million we bid before hand? And the £10 million from johnson?
:unsure::unsure::unsure:

The phantom bid you mean? I have just bid 1m for him, i haven't got it though but then sporting aren't going to accept it. Aj money gone to pay off debts

So Everton made a "phantom" bid, twice, for what reason?, oh and worked with the players Agent also...

This Kirkby bollix being called in is having an effect. It's gonna cost more money now and the board must be stuffin it into mattrasses, suit cases, wardrobes, old socks and under the patio to make sure they've got enough to take us somewhere hardly any of us want to go.

Thats right. Offer a rediculous amount knowing it will get knocked back but it keeps the fans happy cos they have us believing that theyre trying. Yeah theyre trying alright. Very trying.
