TPTV watched an old documentary on Roads & Bridges in the early 1960s the Runcorn bridge was featured- the concrete foundations were erected next to houses in Runcorn - It also featured the car ferry that preceded the bridge - interesting not like the 2nd bridge which George Osborne put atoll on them both!

Worlds highest bridge, delivered in 3.5 years on time. Across a gorge that once took 2 hours to cross now takes 2 minutes. The industrial might and infrastructure it is delivering country wide has never been delivered at the scale the Chinese are currently rolling out. Impressive stuff.

It's got a bullseye on it from the worlds base jumpers, but you want the best wheel man in the world at the bottom of the valley because 6 months in prison there is probably a high price to pay for getting caught.

Fred Dibnah. Not sure what's favourite in that, the comedy puff of cigarette and discard of butt or the colour of his palms when he tucked into that sandwich. Loved taking his steam engine out and doing a pub crawl (let's face it, if you're driving about 5 ton of cast iron at 3mph, you're probably pretty safe on the road).
